Do your children spend too much time in front of the tv or computer? Do you find it nearly impossible to get them to do anything other than play with their video games? Now there is an ingenious way to keep your kids from wasting time in front of screens and electronics - the Power Cop.
Many working parents worry about what their children are doing at home after school when they are unsupervised. Are they doing their homework, or wasting time playing video games? Are they chatting unsupervised on the internet? With Power Cop, these types of worries become a thing of the past.
Many children become so addicted to "screen time" that it seems nearly impossible to get them to do anything else. They are spending too much time sitting on the couch or at the computer and not enough time outside playing with their friends or being active. If you limit their time in front of electronics, they will resist for a time, but will eventually start finding other, more productive, and more active things to do with their time.
The Power Cop is a programmable timer that limits the amount of time your children can spend using electronics. It allows you to choose when, and for how long your kids can use various devices such as computers, tv, and video games.
Prior to Power Cop, the only way to accomplish this was to either hide the electronics, or to use pin codes to allow access. The problem with this is that children have ways of finding out what codes are, or finding where their electronics are hidden. Because Power Cop actually cuts the power to electronic devices, the only time your children will be able to access their electronics is during the times you have programmed.
For example, you can allow your children to have 1 hour of video game time per day on weekdays, and 2 hours per day on weekends. You can also program it to allow more or less time on certain days. It is completely up to you as a parent to program the amount of time that you feel is appropriate for your children.
Before cutting power to the device, Power Cop gives them a 10 minute warning so that they have time to save their games or properly shut down the computer. An added advantage to cutting power to these devices is that your children won't be able to leave them on all day and night - good for your power bills and for the environment!
